Janine Laughlin, PT
Healthy Core Wellness & Rehab, Ltd. was founded by Janine Laughlin, PT, a physical therapist with 20 years of experience. She has specialized in women’s health physical therapy since 1999. Janine earned her Bachelors of Science in Physical Therapy in 1993 from the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo, in cooperation with Bowling Green State University.
Janine has worked as a physical therapist in hospital-based outpatient facilities and wellness centers most of her career before starting the practice in 2009. Since then, Janine has been dedicated to advancing her knowledge and education in women's health and fitness as well as improving the outreach to women. Janine's passion and interest in women's health was inspired by a lifelong history of pelvic pain and digestive issues in addition to changes in her body from 5 pregnancies. She understands firsthand the benefits of hands-on physical therapy to restore the core.
Janine has served as a local speaker on women’s health topics to peers and women, and has published articles in several educational magazines and newsletters. She has also made radio and television appearances to provide education and information about a variety of women's health topics.
Janine is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association's Section on Women's Health and serves on the Health and Wellness Committee of the Hudson Chamber of Commerce. An active member of St. Mary parish, she is a facilitator for VIRTUS, an awareness session for preventing and recognizing the signs of sexual abuse, and serves on the Pre Cana team for engaged couples.
Brian and Janine were married in 1994. They have lived in Hudson since 1997 and have three children.
Brian is a career Firefighter/Paramedic for the City of Twinsburg after being hired full-time in 1993. On his days off, he helps to run the household while wearing many hats at Healthy Core Wellness, including overseeing the front office, book keeping, paying bills, running errands, fixing things and keeping Janine happy.
Brian's interests include being a spectator at their children's events, golfing, following politics and being outdoors. He is an active member of St. Mary parish including serving as a facilitator for The King's Men ministry, facilitator for VIRTUS and is also on the Pre Cana team.
Alice Buchanan PT, DPT
Alice earned a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from John Carroll University with majors in logistics and management and worked for several large corporations before returning to school to pursue her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at Walsh University. Her passion and interest in women's health was inspired by her own experiences with pregnancy, childbirth, and raising small children. Alice's clinical interests include treating pelvic pain, pregnancy & post-partum, and dyspareunia.
Alice is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the Ohio Physical Therapy Association, and the American Physical Therapy Association's Section on Women's Health.
Alice lives in Cuyahoga Falls with her husband and two children. Her personal interests include spending time with family and friends, reading, and dreaming of the day that dishes & laundry wash themselves!
Dorina graduated in 1991 from the University of Akron with double majors in Athletic Training for Sports Medicine and Health Education and has been practicing in the field ever since.
Dorina has worked in many different settings throughout her career including sports medicine clinics, hospitals, and orthopedic physician's offices. Dorina is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as the Ohio Athletic Trainer's Association. She is currently in PTA school at Kent State University and will sit for licensure as a physical therapist assistant in early fall of 2014.
Dorina lives in Richfield with her husband and two children. Her personal interests include gardening, walking and spending time with her family and friends.
Dorina is available for 30 minute sessions by appointment on Tuesdays from 9:30-1:30 and Thursdays from 1:30-5:30. Group classes currently include POSTNATAL BOOT CAMP, appropriate for just about anyone who has a weak core. Class time is 12:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This class is 45 minutes and the cost is $7.
